Celebrating the End of an Era....

After three days with no sleep and unbelievably kind friends who pushed me through the last 72hours of the final EVER uni project; it was time for some well deserved celebrating and how better to do so than the most extravagant of ways - a bottle of bubbly...

Me and Leanne at Terrace bar in the student union;

New Designers 2012 Part 1...

Me and my friend Leanne ventured down to London last Friday to visit the New Designers 2012 Part 1 show held at The Business Design Centre in Angel. The Leeds College of Art stand was really really good (and I'm not just being biased!) many of our friends had had lots of interest and success with Daisy Bird winning the Harlequin award and Kathryn Fowler winning the Tiger Print Award which were both very well deserved! One of my favourite designers was Carrie-Ann Pearce from Birmingham Institute of Art and Design, whose work was very inspiring. She used alot of colour and texture - a true textile artist.

Final Degree Show...

So on June the 8th it was the opening night of the Leeds College of Art degree show called 'Revealed'. The night was a huge success with lots of family and friends coming to see everyone's work. There was even a cheeky glass of wine on arrival....

'Miao Memoirs Final Designs'

Here are my final designs from my most recent project 'Miao Memoirs'. Most of the designs are scarf designs, but I've done a visualisation to show my designs in a clothing context. My favourite one is the 'Across the Borders' Design as I think the colours really stand out against the dark border. Each border/stripe is taken from a section of one of my drawings such as the collars of shirts and it has then been reflected and repeated to create a stripe which is almost unidentifiably linked to its original drawing.....My other favourite is the 'Turquoise Drop'...
